D&H Canada has confirmed that its Vice President of Field Sales, Roy Rivers, will be retiring effective July 31, 2020 after 40 years in the IT industry.

” Rivers has been instrumental in developing D&H’s outside sales team, advancing the distributor’s efforts in both the IT and retail sectors,” writes the SMB and consumer technologies provider in a prepared announcement. “His extensive industry knowledge and robust channel relationships were key in establishing new manufacturer agreements for D&H Canada, including adding HPE’s powerful SMB solutions, Aruba’s security solutions, and Cisco’s popular SMB Meraki wireless solutions.”

Tom Guagliardi, D&H’s Vice President of Sales and Vendor Management, Canada, will continue as the lead executive at D&H Canada after his appointment earlier this year, under the auspices of D&H’s Senior Vice President of Vendor Management and Purchasing Tim Billing.

Both Billing and Guagliardi are native Canadians. To ensure a smooth transition, D&H initiated a plan to migrate leadership duties. Rivers conferred with Co-President Dan Schwab for well over a year about the change-over. By late 2019, the timing was right to name Tom vice president, setting actions into motion to accommodate Rivers’ July 31 retirement, says D&H.

“It has been an honour to be part of the dedicated team at D&H Canada,” says Rivers. “I hold this organization in high esteem and have been proud to lead dynamic efforts to engage an ever-growing geography of D&H partners, expanding our value proposition to underserved areas. I’m confident D&H Canada will continue its commitment to helping more partners increase their profitability and navigate this complex new marketplace.”

Rivers will be moving on to new ventures with his family, friends, and grandchildren, including extensive travel plans and lots of golfing, he says.

“Roy Rivers has been a strong and proactive leader during his time at D&H, proving his merit and establishing major inroads for the company,” says Guagliardi. “Our partners have benefitted greatly from his dedication to proliferating D&H’s high-touch service model throughout Canada, contributing to our successful growth trajectory. We wish him the best as he heads into this latest chapter of his professional and personal journey.”

D&H Canada’s Canadian headquarters are located in Brampton, ON, and its U.S. headquarters in Harrisburg, PA. Additional warehouses are located in Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Fresno, CA, and Vancouver, BC.
