Amazon Echo Show Now Works With Netflix

Netflix subscribers can now stream content directly to their Amazon Echo Show smart displays, watching TV shows and movies while cooking in the kitchen, working out in the home gym, or doing other activities where they don’t have access to the big screen TV.

According to Amazon, people viewed twice as much video content on their Echo Show devices at this time of year in 2020 than they did in 2019 from streaming sites like Prime Video, Hulu, NBC, and others. The integration with Netflix adds yet another option to the mix. Subscribers can access the full Netflix catalog from the smart display.

Customers can search, browse, and stream movies or TV shows by asking to queue something up. To get started, say, “Alexa, show me comedy movies on Netflix” or watch or “Alexa, watch ‘The Crown’ on Netflix.”

“Customers tell us that they love the convenience of Alexa and being able to use voice to browse and control the content they watch on Echo Show and Fire TV,” says Heather Zorn, Director, Alexa Entertainment. “We are excited to add Netflix to our list of content providers on Echo Show and bring the convenience of Alexa to even more Netflix members.”

Say, “Alexa, open Netflix” and log into your account to get started.

In addition to adding more content, Amazon has also made it easier to search for new shows or movies. The new video home page provides customized recommendations for what to watch next. Say, “Alexa, open video home,” to get started. The new video detail pages also offer more information on the selected series or movie at a glance.
