Mac Users Can Now Download Prime Video Content for Offline Viewing

Amazon has confirmed that Mac users with compatible computers can now download Prime Video content for offline viewing using the native macOS app.

Typically, streaming content is only available to download for offline viewing on mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets. But with this new feature. Amazon Prime Video subscribers will be able to access all content available on the streaming service, including licensed Amazon Originals like The Boys, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Coming 2 America, as well as upcoming new shows like The Wheel of Time, to watch on a bigger screen without an Internet connection. This will come in handy during commutes, including flights, while in hotels with spotty Wi-Fi, or anywhere else you don’t want to stream.

The native macOS app with this feature is available to Prime Video customers worldwide, including in Canada, who are running the Big Sur 11.4 operating system or above. The Prime Video app is available for free download through the Mac App Store.

The Prime Video macOS app streaming experience will also include Picture-in-Picture, allowing you to play video content in a resizable floating window that isn’t blocked by other windows; search/browse functionality; in-app transactions (TVOD purchases/rentals); and Amazon’s line-up of live sports and events globally.
