Casio G-Shock Intros Limited edition Dw6900 With Translucent Band and Case

By John Thomson

Casio G-SHOCK announced two limited-edition DW6900 watches inspired as a modern take on one of the original 1983 G-SHOCK silhouettes.

The G-SHOCK concept started with over 200 handmade samples being created and tested to the point of destruction. Finally, in 1983, the first now iconic G-SHOCK hit the streets of Japan branded as “the toughest watch of all time.”

Each watch encompasses seven “shock” elements that test the watch against electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low-temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and durability. The all- black DW6900SP-1 and all- silver DW6900SP-7 feature a transparent band and case alongside a polarized metallic finish dial with an LCD that changes colour depending on the angle to the light.

The two mid-sized watches celebrate the 25th anniversary of the DW6900, one of G-SHOCKʼs most popular original models. To commemorate the occasion, the updated models includes a custom “25” monogrammed LCD that changes colour, and comes in a unique, neon packaging with “1995-2020” written on it in celebration of 25 years of the model.

The DW6900SP-1 and 7 expands the DW6900 original features to include a multi-function alarm and flash alert and an EL Backlight, making the digital display easy to read even in dark conditions. Both models also come equipped with standard G-SHOCK technology such as shock resistance, 200M water resistance, 1/100th second stopwatch, countdown timer, and 12/24-hour time formats.

The DW6900SP-1 and 7 retail for $159 each and will be available at the end of March.
