LG’s New 4K UltraGear Monitor Is Geared at Gamers, Creative Pros

LG Electronics’ new UltraGear monitor, the 27GN950, is dubbed the “world’s first” 4K IPS 1 millisecond Gray-to-Gray (GTG) gaming monitor, a follow up to the 1ms GTG IPS gaming monitor the company introduced last year, the 27GL850.

The 27″ monitor adds 4K screen resolution along with 98 per cent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space. VESA Display Stream Compression (DSC) technology means the monitor can deliver virtually lossless 4K UHD images in 10-bit colour with a 144Hz refresh rate via just a single DisplayPort cable.

With a proprietary Nano IPS display and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification, the UltraGear 27GN950 is also NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and offers support for HDR.

Ideal for gamers who are livestreaming as well as creative professionals who edit high-resolution files or need to access multiple files simultaneously, the monitor supports 10-bit colour depth and hardware calibration.

The 27GN950 will be the first LG UltraGear monitor to sport the new “wings” emblem designed specifically with victory in mind.
