OnePlus Provides a Teaser Look at the OnePlus 12 Smartphone

OnePlus has revealed the design of its upcoming OnePlus 12, successor to the OnePlus 11.

The most significant design change fans will notice with this phone is that the Alert Slider is now on the left-hand side of the phone. In its previous place on the right is a new integrated antenna, which OnePlus says helps deliver enhanced antenna performance for gaming. OnePlus cites internal testing that determines the optimal position for a gaming antenna is between the forefingers of the user when the phone is held in landscape orientation.

To ensure that there’s optimal antenna signal strength, OnePlus uses ultra-compact full band antenna technology and Alert Slider antenna integration technology to minimize the space occupied by the Alert Slider. According to the lab test data by OnePlus, the gaming antenna signal can be improved by 3dB, with the game latency reduced by 15%.

Meanwhile, the phone is designed with rigid lines and structured cityscapes, inspired by the beauty of nature with a Flowy Emerald colour. The design team visited Dart River in New Zealand to get inspired for the phone. They used the 3x periscope telephoto camera of the phone supported by the 4th gen Hasselblad cameras for mobile combined with the latest AG technology to imprint on the glass surface of the device.

There’s not much else known about the phone just yet beyond this teaser about its design. Some rumors and leaks suggest it will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 2K display, wireless charging support, and infrared remote control functions. But none of these features have been officially confirmed.

The OnePlus 12 will officially debut next week with a global launch date likely to be in time for the holiday season.
