Bluesound, the wireless multi-room audio brand, today announces the new PULSE SUB, a redesigned wireless powered subwoofer, built to add low-frequency support to movies, music, TV and games. Featuring a 350-watt amplifier, dual-opposing 6.5-inch woofers and wireless integration via BluOS, the PULSE SUB delivers bass performance in a compact design intended for home use.
For Bluesound customers looking to add more low-frequency support to their system, the PULSE SUB is designed to be added like another Bluesound Player. Built for the BluOS ecosystem, it connects wirelessly to compatible Bluesound products and pairs through the BluOS Controller app. It can be used with the PULSE CINEMA or PULSE CINEMA MINI wireless soundbars for home theater applications or paired with the POWERNODE wireless streaming amp to extend bass response for music listening.

“Powerful, accurate bass should reveal and elevate every detail in your movies, music, TV and games without ever calling attention to itself,” said Matt Simmonds, VP of Bluesound Product Development. “With the PULSE SUB, we completely reimagined the acoustic and industrial design to deliver significantly more power in a form factor that is compact, controlled and easy to live with. Pair it with the PULSE CINEMA and PULSE FLEX and you have an effortlessly simple wireless surround sound system.”
Inside the PULSE SUB, two custom 6.5-inch woofers operate in an opposing configuration, driven by a 350-watt amplifier with Smart DSP technology. With 2.5x more power than the previous generation, the new architecture is designed to improve low-frequency performance for movie soundtracks, scores and music playback.

The dual-opposing design also helps manage cabinet movement. By positioning the woofers opposite one another, mechanical forces are counteracted to reduce unwanted vibration and resonance. This allows the drivers to produce bass with reduced cabinet interference.
PULSE SUB was designed to pair with the PULSE CINEMA and PULSE CINEMA MINI wireless soundbars, giving Bluesound customers a way to add deeper bass to a wireless home theater system. Using BluOS, the PULSE SUB wirelessly discovers and pairs to the soundbar in the app, where users can fine-tune volume, crossover and phase to suit their system and room.

The PULSE SUB also connects to other Bluesound Players including the POWERNODE, PULSE M and PULSE FLEX, adding low-frequency performance to Bluesound systems throughout the home. A low line-level analog input also allows PULSE SUB to operate as a wired active subwoofer with other audio systems.
At just over one square foot of floor space, the PULSE SUB uses a compact enclosure designed to sit alongside modern furniture and décor in contemporary living spaces. The industrial design follows the visual ID introduced across Bluesound’s latest PULSE wireless speakers. Soft contours, tonal-weave fabric grilles and matte satin finishes align with the broader Bluesound line. Integrated cable management channels help keep wiring routed and out of sight, while wireless connectivity provides flexibility in positioning the subwoofer.

The PULSE SUB will be available later this year at $1099 USD and $1299 CAD through authorized Bluesound retailers, bluesound.com, and Amazon. Pre-orders for the PULSE SUB will also be available at a later date from bluesound.com.
