Bose Launches New QuietComfort Buds, Portable Speakers in Time for Summer

Bose has introduced three new audio products in time for summer, including a new pair of QuietComfort wireless earbuds, a portable Bluetooth speaker, and a new micro Bluetooth speaker.

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen)

Bose QuietComfort Ultra

These second-gen flagship noise cancelling earbuds boast updates from gen-one, including a new AI algorithms that enhance ActiveSense, which Bose says helps better filter out sudden noise spikes. The result, claims Bose, is smoother adaptive noise cancellation along with improved overall voice pickup and call quality.

The buds are IPX4 rated and can run for up to six hours per charge (four with immersive audio). The included case can now also be charged wirelessly. Each earbud also features a new embedded wax-guard, which helps prevent buildup and audio degradation.

The Bose QuietComfort Ultra (2nd-Gen) come in Black, White Smoke and Deep Plum, and will sell in Canada for $379. They are scheduled to launch later this summer.

Bose SoundLink Plus Portable Speaker

Bose SoundLink Plus

As a new mid-range portable speaker, the SoundLink Plus will sit between the SoundLink Flex and the Max in the line. Like the Goldilocks option, it’s big enough to provide rich bass but also portable enough to take with you, popped into a backpack, duffle bag, or beach tote.

It’s equipped with one subwoofer, a tweeter, and four passive radiators. Not only is it IP67 rated, it also floats in water. Get up to 20 hours of battery life per charge. It can also charge other devices with its USB-C port so your phone is always powered up to use as your source.

Bose SoundLink Plus

Available in Black, Blue Dusk, or the new summer colour Citrus Yellow starting June 26 (pre-orders begin today, June 18 for the Citrus Yellow), it’s $349 in Canada.

Bose SoundLink Micro Bluetooth Speaker (2nd Gen)

Bose SoundLink Micro

The next generation of Bose’s ultra-mini Bluetooth speaker, perfect for clipping to a bag, jeans, or bicycle handlebars, is the SoundLink Micro Bluetooth Speaker (2nd Gen). It now features USB-C charging, an extended battery life of 12 hours, and Bose app compatibility. This affords access to an adjustable EQ, SimpleSync connections, Shortcut button customization, and more. It also has a new removeable fabric nylon strap so it’s easier to clip or loop the speaker onto bags, golf carts, bikes, shower heads, carabiners, and other similar items. You also get improved audio performance with clearer sound at higher frequencies without sacrificing bass.

The Bose SoundLink Micro Bluetooth speaker will come in Black or Blue Dusk once available later this summer, and it’ll be $179 in Canada.
