Bowers & Wilkins Upgrade Active Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones

Bowers & Wilkins, (B&W) founded in the U.K. in 1966 have launched the new Px7 S2 wireless headphone, replacing the current PX7.

Px7 S2 is built around an all-new acoustic platform including the newly developed, custom-designed 40mmdriver, specifically created for headphone listening, by creating supremely low distortion for a more accurate,high-resolution presentation. The drive units are also angled inside each earcup to ensure a consistent distance relative to the listener’s ear from every point across the surface of each driver.

The Px7 S2 uses Qualcomm’s aptX Adaptive wireless technology to automatically optimize wireless musictransmission from compatible phones, tablets and computers. That is coupled with Bowers & Wilkins-developed DSP (Digital Signal Processing), creating 24-bit high-resolution sound quality from suitable streaming services. USB-C and 3.5mm cable connections are also supported, with both cable types included in the carrying case that accompanies the product.

The Px7 S2 uses proprietary Bowers & Wilkins-optimized noise cancellation technology to using six upgraded high-performance microphones working together: two microphones measure the output of each drive unit, two react to ambient noise from the outside world and two provide voice clarity with enhanced noise suppression.

The Px7 S2 is also the first headphone to work directly with the Bowers & Wilkins Music App. The App can be used to pair Px7 S2 to a mobile device, fine-tune the sound through adjustable EQ, activate or disengage the noise-cancelling transparency mode to let in more or less of the outside world and finally, monitor the headphone’s charge levels. In a future upgrade, the Music App will add the ability for users to stream their chosen music directly from their mobile device to their headphones.

Physical controls on each earcup are also included, for a non-app user interface and can be used to launchtheir phone’s Voice Assistant. The Px7 S2 offers 30 hours of battery life on one charge, while a 15-minutequick recharge is sufficient to provide up to seven hours of additional listening time. Px7 S2 is available in threefinishes: grey, blue and black, each with complementary detailing.

“I’m incredibly proud of our new Px7 S2 headphones. They’re supremely comfortable, beautiful to look at and sound great. They’re the perfect way to take True Sound with you everywhere you go” commented Stephanie Willems, Brand President of Bowers & Wilkins.

Px7 S2 key features include: Active noise-cancelling wireless headphones / Bowers & Wilkins Music App forset-up and control / 30 hours battery life from a single charge / USB-C and 3.5mm cables included / Available in grey, blue and black.
