At CES 2025, Onanoff is debuting the BuddyPhones EcoBuddy, a pair of eco-friendly headphones for kids that are made using recycled and ocean recovered plastic.
The Onanoff BuddyPhones EcoBuddy are a new version of the BuddyPhones line of child-friendly headphones specifically designed to protect kids’ hearing while also protecting the planet. They are made from 30% recycled materials, most of which is ocean-sourced polypropylene and ABS plastic.
By repurposing ocean-recovered plastic, BuddyPhones EcoBuddy addresses the urgent issue of marine pollution while also reducing the reliance on virgin plastic production, a process that is both resource-intensive and environmentally damaging.

The fun and stylish headphones provide a safe, comfortable, and immersive audio experience thanks to Onanoff’s patented SafeAudio volume control with two listening settings. Designed for comfort, they include a foldable headband, oversized clip-on cushions, and hypoallergenic padding. They provide both wired and wireless connectivity with up to 20 hours of playtime and come equipped with a built-in microphone.
Kids can further personalize their BuddyPhones EcoBuddy headphones, choosing from four colours and adding fun, ocean-themed foil stickers. Younger children can enjoy playful cartoon designs of a mermaid, octopus, dolphin, or shark, while older kids may prefer realistic depictions of life above and below the waves.

“Our mission with BuddyPhones EcoBuddy is to provide a high-quality, eco-friendly audio solution that empowers young listeners to positively impact the planet,” says Petur Hannes Ólafsson, CEO of Onanoff. “Using recycled ocean plastics, we’re offering safe and immersive headphones for kids while fostering environmental awareness. EcoBuddy is designed to inspire the next generation to make mindful choices, one listening experience at a time.”
The Onanoff BuddyPhones EcoBuddy comes packaged in FSC-certified materials and are set to launch in Q3 2025 for US$40 a pair.
