CES 2025: Targus, Hyper Debut New Laptop Bags, Computing Accessories

Targus and Hyper plan to introduce a suite of new laptop bags and computing accessories at CES 2025, which kicks off this week in Las Vegas.

Targus is introducing new hard cases for the latest iPads, including military-grade and keyboard cases, all of which are tested to meet the MIL-STD-810G standard.

Targus SafePort Max case for iPad

The rugged SafePort Max Case is designed to provide maximum iPad protection, proven and tested to withstand drops up to six feet. Arriving in February 2025, the case features BlueShock protection and a rugged design, and has an integrated, bezel-free screen protector to help protect the tablet from scuffs and scratches, along with several productivity-boosting features.​

Targus VersaVu Keyboard cases

Targus already introduced three new VersaVu Bluetooth Keyboard Cases last month. These protective and versatile slim keyboard cases have unique, productivity-boosting features for mobile professionals and students. They feature a patented 360° rotation so you can use the tablet in portrait or landscape mode, adjustable kickstand, and a full QWERTY backlit keyboard with large multi-touch trackpad and media keys. Each meets meets military-grade specifications for drop-rated protection from as high as four feet. There are versions for several iPad models.

Then, there’s the innovative Thunderbolt 5 dock (DOCK230), which is equipped with Intel’s new Thunderbolt Share capabilities and made using recycled materials and packaging. Available in early 2025, DOCK230 is based on Intel’s next generation Thunderbolt 5. It brings significant updates and improvements over Thunderbolt 4 while being backward compatible with previous versions of Thunderbolt 4 including USB4 and upcoming USB4v2.

Targus will also introduce a stylish, feature-rich executive backpack featuring a patent-pending Targus SafeSling protection system that the company says delivers more protection than standard laptop cases, and has an interior made from recycled materials equivalent to 21 plastic bottles.

In the Hyper line, there are two new HyperPacks: HyperPack (US$109) features three compartments, a semi-integrated tracker that can be removed if desired and is made from EcoSmart recycled material. The HyperPack Go (US$79) is also made from EcoSmart material. It has two compartments, tracker pocket for you to add your own tracker to the holder.  

Hyperspace Trackpad Pro

HyperSpace Trackpad Pro is a premium trackpad for Windows, offering a fully functional Windows trackpad that rivals the Apple Magic Trackpad. Palm rests allow you to create a comfortable set-up. You can also customize your own gestures to optimize workflow. It will come with a “Hyper Learning Cloud” to allow you to upload gestures/shortcuts/useability hacks so others can discover them and find new ways of working. It will be available for from US$130 to US$150.
