Dyson 360 Vis Nav Robot Vacuum is Now in Canada

The Dyson 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum that the company announced early last year is now officially available in Canada.

The robot vacuum is engineered with Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) technology and a 360-degree vision system with fish-eye hemispheric lens that remembers where it has been, sees where to clean, and is intelligent enough to create dust maps of your home. The high-level processor collects data from 26 sensors for a range of tasks, including dust detection, obstacle avoidance and wall detection, to clean right to the edge.

The 360-degree vision system and fisheye lens provide the robot with a panoramic view of the home to accurately interpret its surroundings. The SLAM vision system processes the information from the camera and remembers where it has been and knows where to clean.

A Dyson Hyperdymium motor spins up to 110,000rpm to deliver twice the suction of other robot vacuums, Dyson claims. The vacuum also features Dyson’s triple-action brush bar, Dyson’s first brush bar to combine powerful suction with three ways to deep clean: soft nylon to pick up large debris on hard floors; anti-static carbon fibre filaments to pick up fine dust on hard floors; and stiff nylon bristles to dig into carpets.

Along with the full-width brush bar, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav also features a side edge actuator to redirect suction to the side. Wall-follow sensors allow it to get up to the edge of a room and follow the wall, deploying the actuator to pick up dust from the edge.

A Piezo sensor detects and reacts to changes in dust levels to adjust cleaning accordingly. The wide diameter brush bar is designed to help reduce tangling, something pet owners will appreciate. Pet owners will also like that HEPA filtration captures pet dander and other allergens as well, while a quiet mode can be used so as not to frighten pets or disturb babies. There are four cleaning modes: auto, quick, quiet, and boost for maximum suction.

Once ready to empty, you can use the hygienic one-handed bin emptying ejection mechanism. The vacuum can run for up to 65 minutes per charge.

The Dyson 360 Vis Nav works in tandem with the MyDyson app to intelligently navigate and clean. You can use the app to create, customize, and schedule zones, define zones in the home, and set it to clean at specific times of the day. The app also provides deep cleaning reports and software updates.

Armed with a dual-link suspension system, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav can climb up to 21mm. The low-profile machine can also clean under objects as low as 99mm from the floor, easily navigating under and around furniture.

The Dyson 360 Vis Nav is available now for $1,500.
