Huawei debuts its new nova 13 series phones during the Dubai Huawei flagship product launch earlier this month.
The AI-driven phone employs a plaid texture design and multi-focal portrait capabilities, with a Star Effect finish on the back. Launching in a flagship Loden Green finish, white and black colours are also available.
With the signature Super Star Orbit Ring camera design and 5D glass structure on the back, it provides a seamless look. The camera includes the new AI Best Expression feature that optimizes expressions of subjects in a photo, scanning through burst shots so you can pick the most natural one and compose a photo so everyone looks good.
There’s support for multi-focal portraits with both the front and rear cameras so you get atmospheric portrait images. The phone comes with an upgraded 50MP adjustable aperture camera with a variable aperture range of F1.4 to F4.0. This intelligent aperture system can recognize scenes and adjust settings accordingly. Equipped with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), the camera improves light sensitivity for clearer results in low-light conditions as well. Additionally, the 3X optical zoom telephoto portrait camera with OIS provides versatile zoom options, perfect for medium to long-distance portrait shots.
Powered by EMUI 14.2, The Huawei nova 13 Series comes with Huawei Themes so you can use Symbol Stickers to add cut-out images from your Gallery as stickers into a thematic background. Using emojis, you can use Emoji Stickers to create personalized backgrounds as well. The home screen also supports personalized Symbol Stickers.
From a security standpoint, there’s support for app tracking management and key control points during app installation and operation.
For power, the phone supports the new 100W Huawei SuperCharge Turbo with AI Precision Temperature Control for stable power output, so you can charge the 5,000mAh battery to 50% in just nine or 10 minutes, depending on the model.
With the new Dynamic True-Colour Display, the nova 13 Series comes with AI HDR that combines HDR technology with AI algorithms to automatically recognize scenes. To ensure ease of viewing the display during dimly lit scenarios, there’s an advanced AI Eye Comfort Display, enhancing the eye-care experience from multiple angles. By intelligently sensing ambient lighting, recognizing image content, and controlling blue light levels, it ensures a more comfortable and strain-free viewing experience, adapting to the user’s environment for optimal eye care.
Huawei nova 13 Pro features a 120Hz LTPO Adaptive Display. The Always-On Display (AOD) provides a quick glance at essential information, while Splash Touch & Touch Optimization ensures smooth, accurate interaction, even on wet screens.
Additionally, Huawei has announced the FreeBuds Pro 4 true wireless earbuds, a new flagship in the line. They feature Dual-driver True Sound and proprietary algorithms to ensure stable and clear calls with effective background noise elimination.
Featuring Polar Code technology and Huawei’s proprietary L2HC 4.0 codec, they afford 2.3Mbps lossless TWS audio transmission, supporting 48kHz/24-bit high-resolution audio. Select between professionally tuned EQ modes, including Classic and Balanced.
Equipped with Huawei’s AI noise cancellation algorithm, they eliminate up to 100 dB of external call noise. The quad-microphone system, combined with multi-channel deep neural network (DNN) algorithm, accurately distinguishes human voices from environmental sounds. Head Motion Controls allow call answering and rejection through nodding or head shaking.
