OnePlus is already teasing some big news coming for Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, taking place next week in Barcelona. In addition to showcasing its newly launched OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R smartphones, the company will also be revealing its first smartwatch in three years.
Called the OnePlus Watch 2, this model is the successor to the OnePlus Watch 1, which wasn’t without criticism. From usability to battery life, customers and reviewers had a lot to say about that smartwatch. And OnePlus, it appeared, has listened.
Set to launch officially on February 26, OnePlus promises that the OnePlus Watch 2 will offer the best-ever battery life and design along with reliability for every day use and “meticulous health monitoring.”
“After a three-year hiatus and a reflective pause following the OnePlus Watch 1, the Watch 2 re-emerged, and we are more confident than ever about this product,” says Kinder Liu, COO and President of OnePlus. “This confidence is not unfounded, it’s built on a foundation of substantial advancements in our technological ecosystem and capabilities. Watch 2 indicates our determination to transform from ‘Flagship Killer’ to ‘Ecosystem builder.’ It will provide you with experience that’s not just improved but transformed.”
There are a few things we already know about the OnePlus Watch 2. Most notable is that it will sport an up to 100-hour battery life in Smart Mode, which translates to about four days. We also know it has a black or radiant stainless-steel chassis and round sapphire crystal watch face, designed with inspiration from the curves of the OnePlus 12 series.
Stay tuned for our review of both the OnePlus Watch 2 and OnePlus 12.
