The Pioneer Sphera, which was first shown at CES 2026 earlier this year, is officially available. The aftermarket in-dash receiver promises to offer spatial audio in the car with Dolby Atmos playback in Apple CarPlay.
The aftermarket in-dash receiver can be installed in millions of existing vehicles, says Pioneer, purporting to offer a Dolby Atmos experience using the car’s existing speakers. Stream music, audiobooks, and podcasts in Dolby Atmos from compatible services and enjoy added depth, clarity, and detail, says the company.
Dolby Atmos via Apple CarPlay uses Pioneer’s Autotuning technology to calibrate the system to any vehicle interior. It works by adjusting the time alignment, frequency response, and channel levels to optimize the listening experience.
The receiver itself has a 10.1-inch HD capacitive display with Pioneer’s Quick Swipe interface affording intuitive control. Along with Apple CarPlay support, it also supports Android Auto and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Pioneer Sphera aftermarket in-dash receiver is now available for US$1,300.
