Plugable has introduced the USBC-E1000-2M USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet adapter with a fully integrated two-metre cable. The cable is designed for professionals, students, and remote workers.
The hybrid adapter cable features a permanently integrated USB-C connector and a male RJ45 (8P8C) Gigabit Ethernet plug. With an extended two-metre reach, it offers a cleaner, more flexible networking solution that works across shared desks, long conference tables, or server setups.
Built around the Realtek RTL8153E chipset, the adapter supports 10/100/1000Mbps bandwidth and is compatible with USB-C ports, including USB4 and Thunderbolt.

The integrated cable design ensures a secure connection without the wobble or wear often seen in traditional dongle-style adapters, says the company. With no detachable parts, Plugable says the risk of connectivity issues or loose ports is minimized. The hardwired connection means no Wi-Fi dropouts, and point-to-point security only available with a physical connection.
The adapter works with Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, and Linux systems, no driver installation required. Popular devices like Dell XPS, Lenovo ThinkPad, MacBook, Chromebooks, and USB-C equipped phones and tablets like iPads and iPhones are all supported out of the box.
The Plugable USB-C Gigabit Ethernet cable (USBC-E1000-2M) is available now for US$20.
