Samsung Returns to Mobile Computing in Canada With Trio of Premium Mobile Laptops

Samsung Canada has launched three new premium mobile laptops, all powered by Intel: the Galaxy Book S, Galaxy Book Flex, and the Galaxy Book Ion. The launch marks Samsung’s return to mobile computing in the Canadian market.

The Galaxy Book S is an always-on, always-connected PC that is powered by Intel’s Core processor with Intel Hybrid Technology, making it the first ever device to offer this chipset. The chipset allows for more efficient operation that consumes less energy and provides better battery performance. The laptop can run for up to 17 hours per charge and offers up to 512GB of storage.

It features Wi-Fi 6 and instant touch-to-wake capability. Weighing just 950 grams and only 11.8 mm at its thickest point, the ultra-slim profile means you can slip the Galaxy Book S into a small bag, portfolio or just carry under your arm with ease. A fan-less design allows the Galaxy Book S to be slimmer than traditional laptops and helps it to run noiselessly, even during sustained and intense periods of work, says Samsung.

Galaxy Book S features a light clamshell design built with a durable metal body. Outdoor Mode instantly boosts brightness to 600 nits using a two-key shortcut. The screen is also touch-enabled.

Thanks to Samsung’s partnership with Microsoft, you can enjoy the Android operating system on the Windows PC for a seamless and continuous device-to-device experience. With Microsoft’s Link to Windows, you can sync your mobile device to receive notifications, messages, cross-device copy & paste and photo transfer, all on your Galaxy Book.

The Samsung Galaxy Book S will be available at a later date and come in a 13.3″ size and mercury gray finish for $1,299.

As a portable and premium 2-in-1 computer, the Galaxy Book Flex features a QLED display and employs an ultra-slim convertible design. Boasting a 10th gen Intel Core processor, it offers up to 21 hours of battery life and features Wireless PowerShare, allowing you to wirelessly charge any of your Qi-compatible devices right on the trackpad, and a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen with enhanced gesture controls. It has a 360-degree hinge for using the device as both a laptop and a tablet.

An ultra-lightweight PC, the Galaxy Book Ion also has a QLED display, 10th Gen Intel Core processor, and Wireless PowerShare, and its battery lasts for up to 22 hours of use per charge. The hinged design helps elevate the keyboard for more comfortable typing. Made of ultralight magnesium, it is ultra-thin and weighs under a kilogram.

Both also feature Outdoor Mode, Wi-Fi 6, and Thunderbolt 3.

Both the Flex and Ion are available for pre-order and will be for sale in stores and online starting June 5. The Flex will come in royal blue and the Ion in aura silver, and both will come in 13.3″ and 15.6″ size options. The Flex starts at $2.199 and the Ion at $1,699.
