Samsung Releases New Galaxy S23 FE Fan Edition Phone, Tablets & Buds

Samsung is following up the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE “Fan Edition” phone with the newest version, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, which boasts a sleeker design, better cameras, and improved processor, among other minor upgrades. The phone is also joined by the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE and FE+ and the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE phone includes a pro-grade camera and smooth gaming performance thanks to the 8GB RAM out of the gate along with the 120Hz refresh rate. It has the signature floating camera and premium aluminum finish, and it’s IP68 dust- and water-resistant. It’s also made, in part, using recycled materials.

The phone, which comes in Mint, Cream, Graphite, and Purple, has a 50MP high-resolution lens and 3X optical zoom. After dark, Nightography on Galaxy S23 FE lets you take clear selfies and portraits in lifelike colours. There’s also advanced video digital image stabilization (VDIS) for taking steady shots on-the-go using the rear camera with the optical image stabilizer (OIS).

In Pro Mode, there are controls for shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and more that can be manually adjusted to your preferences. Capture customized shots with the Camera Assistant app and choose from automated features for a customized shooting experience.

The long-lasting 4,500mAh battery adjusts to conserve energy, charging up to 50% in just 30 minutes with a 25W Adapter. The phone is equipped with a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. Based on your surroundings, Vision Booster technology on Galaxy S23 FE automatically detects bright lighting conditions to help maintain a vivid screen.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will be available for purchase starting on October 27, 2023, at samsung.com/ca, Samsung Experience Stores, and at major carrier and retail partner locations across Canada in Mint, Cream, Graphite, and Purple. Indigo and Tangerine will also be available exclusively at samsung.com/ca. The 128GB version will sell for $870 and the 256GB version for $950.

Complementing the launch are the new Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ tablets, which boast IP68 durability and come with the S Pen. The Tab S9 FE has a 10.9-inch screen and the Tab S9 FE+ a larger 12.4-inch display. Both feature an automatic refresh rate that adapts up to 90Hz and include the same Vision Booster feature as the phone. The Galaxy S9 FE+ model delivers up to 20 hours of video playback per charge, so it will last all day. The tablets can be used with various apps, including Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Clip Studio Paint, and others for productivity, creativity, and entertainment. They come with 256GB of built-in storage but you can upgrade up to 1TB using an optional microSD card. The tablets will be available starting October 11 with a starting price of $600 up to $950, depending on the model and storage capacity option.

Rounding out the new FE line-up are the Galaxy Buds FE, which offer improved sound, ANC with Ambient Sound, and a new ergonomic design. Automatic personalized beamforming, along with AI-powered Deep Neural Network (DNN), separates your voice from unwanted background noise for clearer calls. They also boast the longest battery life to date for a pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds at up to 8.5 hours per charge, a total of 30 hours with the included charging case. With ANC on, you still get up to six hours of playback and 21 hours with the case. They are also designed to be comfortable for all-day wear with a customized fit and three different ear tips from which to choose as well as two different wingtip sizes. They’ll be available starting October 11 in graphite and white for $140.

All three new devices work together seamlessly. You can use Multi Control, for example, to drag and drop content between different devices, like the phone and tablet. You can also copy and paste, transfer videos and images with Quick Share, and more. With Auto Switch on the Galaxy Buds FE, meanwhile, you can easily switch the audio from the smartphone to the tablet, watch, or TV. Galaxy S23 FE and the Galaxy Tab S9 FE Series are also backed by Samsung Knox protection, which provides added security to Galaxy devices.

The new Galaxy S23 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE Series are designed to last with four generations of OS upgrades and five years of security updates.
