TerraMaster has launched its new flagship F2-425 Plus and F4-425 Plus NAS devices, engineered to deliver professional-grade performance and storage flexibility for modern homes, creative professionals, and small offices.
Representing a comprehensive upgrade over its predecessors, the F4-423 and F4-424, the F2-425 Plus and F4-425 Plus fully transitions to an Intel N150, achieving up to a 40% performance boost compared to ARM-based alternatives. They boast hybrid storage capacity, AI-enhanced multimedia capabilities, and an intelligent software ecosystem.
Powered by an Intel quad-core processor with a burst frequency of up to 3.6 GHz, Terramaster’s latest devices combine efficiency and speed to deliver seamless multitasking and accelerated workloads. It is equipped with fast DDR5 memory (expandable to 32 GB) to ensure responsive performance across demanding applications.
Engineered for hybrid storage flexibility, the F2-425 Plus and F4-425 Plus support multiple disk slots for 3.5″ and 2.5″ SATA HDDs or SSDs and integrates three M.2 2280 NVMe slots (PCIe 3.0 x1). This design allows a total storage capacity of up to 144 TB (30TB x4 + 8TB x3) for the F4-425 Plus. The triple NVMe slots can serve as cache accelerators or be incorporated into storage pools, optimizing performance and cost-efficiency while supporting TerraMaster’s TRAID and TRAID+ array configurations for enhanced read/write speed and data security.

For speed enthusiasts, Terramaster’s latest devices provide dual 5GbE network ports, achieving transfer rates up to 1010 MB/s, doubling the throughput of previous models. Its hardware encryption engine with AES-NI technology safeguards data integrity without compromising performance. The hardware transcoding engine supports H.264, H.265, MPEG-4, and VC-1 formats with up to 4K (4,096 x 2,160) resolution at 60 FPS, enabling smooth video streaming and real-time transcoding for media professionals.
The NAS delivers comprehensive backup and data protection capabilities through the Business Backup Suite (BBS), including Duple Backup, Centralized Backup, TerraSync multi-device synchronization, CloudSync recovery, and Snapshot ransomware protection. Businesses benefit from role-based permissions, shared folders, and TNAS online remote access, simplifying collaboration and workflow efficiency.
Security remains a cornerstone of the design, incorporating 256-bit TLS transmission, OTP two-factor authentication, SPC app protection, and HyperLock-WORM tamper-proof technology to ensure robust defense against data breaches and unauthorized changes.
A standout feature of the F2-425 Plus and F4-425 Plus is its AI-powered photo management system, using local algorithms to recognize faces, pets, objects, and scenes for automatic album creation. This privacy-first design operates entirely offline, guaranteeing that personal data never leaves the device.
The new models also excel in virtualization and multimedia performance, supporting Docker and VirtualBox for efficient container and VM management. The models also have integrated Intel graphics and can handle 8K video decoding and fully compatible with Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin, transforming it into a premium home entertainment hub.
TerraMaster’s new models introduce dual 5GbE connectivity and a triple M.2 SSD slot architecture.
The TerraMaster F4-425 Plus – 4-bay NAS is available for US$570 and the TerraMaster F2-425 Plus – 2-bay NAS for US$400.
