Toronto Audiofest is currently underway, taking place at both the Westin and Holiday Inn by Toronto Pearson Airport at the west end of the city. Open all weekend long from October 18-20, 2024 and open to the public, the show focuses in high-end audio and related gear, from headphones to AV receivers and network players, cables, vinyl, and more.
WiFi HiFi walked the show floor on the first day and it was bustling with lines to redeem tickets and full parking lots. While the belief is often that the younger generation “doesn’t care” about good sound, the audience is a mix of various ages, everyone looking to explore the latest and greatest in audio.
Booths are set up throughout the lobby and hallway areas of the hotels as well as in suites, some under locked doors to showcase exciting upcoming products. We’ll share more about those later. Attendees can sit down for demos, hearing glorious sounding tunes through incredible speakers, some costing in the double-digit thousands, others more accessible for the enthusiast with a smaller budget.
Many brands are participating in the show across the two venues, including Audeze, Audio Technica, Bluesound (Lenbrook), Focal, ifi, Marantz, Sennheiser, and Wireworld, showcasing a range of products. Distributors like Erikson Consumer, Gemsen, Kevro International, Lenbrook, and Motet are also on hand, as are retailers like Hi-Fi Centre and Kennedy Hifi, showcasing a sampling of what’s new and what they have to offer in their stores.
General admission tickets are $25 for any one day or $50 for two or more, free for kids under the age of 18. You can save by buying online in advance at $15 for the day or $30 for two or more days. Industry members can gain entry for $15 for the entire show or $20 on-site. While you’ll stay have to pay for parking, attendees pay half price at $15 versus the regular $32 rate.
