Shenzen-based 8849 has revealed the new Tank 4 Pro, a rugged smartphone that, like the 8849 Tank 3 Pro, has a built-in HD projector, along with various upgraded features like an AMOLED screen, Dimensity 8300 processor, fast charging, and more.
The 8849 Tank 4 Pro has a 720p projector built in alongside the 6.73-inch 1,440 x 3,200 AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate The rugged phone runs on a Dimensity 8300 processor, a step-up from the Dimensity 8200 processor in the Tank 3 Pro. You’ll get 120W fast charging and a night vision camera as well.

As the name implies, the phone is also built like a tank for extreme conditions and professional use. Along with the MediaTek Dimensity chip is 16GB RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage, which is expandable via TF card. It has a triple-slot design for enjoying dual SIMs and memory expansion.
The integrated 720P DLP projector offers a brightness of 100 lumens, laser-assisted autofocus up to four metres, and a focus range from 0.5 to three metres. It’s ideal for viewing content in low-light environments, like tents and outdoor campsites. Along with the projector, the phone also has a built-in RGB camping light and dedicated alarm lights.

Capture images with the 50MP Samsung S5KGN1 ISOCELL sensor main camera, accompanied by a 64MP OmniVision night vision camera enhanced by four infrared lights. A third telephoto lens uses a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 sensor with autofocus for detailed zoom shots. There’s also a 32MP OmniVision selfie camera for front-facing selfies.
The Tank 4 Pro runs on Android 14 and has a 11,600mAh battery that is capable of 120W ultra-fast wired charging. It also supports 25W reverse charging so you can use the phone to recharge other compatible devices.

As an ultra-durable phone, it meets an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. It comes with built-in NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6e, USB 3.0 Type-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and two Push-To-Talk (PTT) buttons, and weighs 538 grams.
The 8849 TANK 4 Pro is available for US$649.
