YouTube Confirms 2025 Trends in Video

YouTube has released its list of trending videos in Canada through 2025, which also marked the streaming site’s 20th birthday.

Not surprisingly, the animated series KPop Demon Hunters is among the year’s top trending topics, along with the songs “Soda Pop,” “Golden,” “How it’s Done,” and “Your Idol” as top trending songs and Shorts lists.

KPop, ‘APT’ by Rose and Bruno Mars, was listed as the top Song on YouTube in 2025. It was the fifth-fastest music video to reach one-billion views and the fastest KPop track to do so, unseating “Gangnam Style.”

Dance and content trends on Shorts propelled older songs to this year’s top Shorts Songs list, including “Pretty Little Baby” by Connie Francis and “Rock Your Body” by The Black Eyed Peas, while new songs like Doechhi’s smash hit “Anxiety” used Shorts to break through. Creators to Watch, meanwhile, represent interests across K-pop and sports fandom.
