CEDIA Expo 2026: SI KAOS 360 is a Dual-Sided Projector Screen for the Outdoors

The new KOAS 360 from Screen Innovations is a dual-sided motorized outdoor rear-projection screen that combines the company’s proprietary dual-sided 360° optic with the KAOS Onyx Retention System to keep the screen flat. The result is bright, hot-spot-free images on both sides of the screen across a 160-degree viewing cone, supporting screen sizes up to 24 feet wide.

SI has offered dual-sided outdoor projection since the introduction of its 360° optic with Solo 3, allowing guests on the patio, at the pool, or across the lawn to enjoy the same bright, uniform image from opposite sides of the screen. But air movement was a challenge, since rear projection requires a flat screen surface to maintain focus and image integrity. Even moderate breezes can compromise the viewing experience.

The SI KAOS was engineered to solve that challenge with the Onyx Retention System that keeps the screen surface flat, providing better uniformity and wind resistance. Meanwhile, SI’s proprietary 360° optic uses advanced light-diffusing particles embedded within the projection surface to distribute projected light evenly in every direction, producing bright, uniform, hot-spot-free images on both sides of the screen across a 160-degree viewing cone. This gives installers greater flexibility in projector placement through generous use of lens shift and keystone correction without sacrificing image quality.

Once you’re done watching, the motorized screen retracts into a surface-mounted box or recessed pocket cassette available in multiple finishes to complement the surrounding architecture. Fully integrated with the Screen Innovations ecosystem, KAOS 360 Rear-Projection seamlessly works with SI screens, shades, and control systems.

The proprietary 360 optic evenly diffuses projected light across the viewing surface, producing consistent brightness, excellent off-axis performance, and flexible projector placement with generous use of lens shift and keystone correction. When not in use, the motorized screen retracts into a discreet box or pocket cassette available in multiple finishes to complement surrounding architecture.
