Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Provides Personal Cooling

Ready for the hot and humid summer to come, or a vacation to a tropical destination? Dyson is expanding its HushJet line with the Hushjet Mini Cool fan, its first portable, handheld fan to provide personal cooling.

The HushJet Mini Cool fan can be used handheld, but you can also place it on your desk and wear it around your neck. It weighs just 212 grams, so it’s as light as a smartphone, and comes equipped with a 5,000mAh six-hour battery. You get airflow speeds of up to 25m/s (90 km/hr.) via Dyson HushJet projection, and it’s powered by a brushless DC motor that spins at up to 65,000 rpm. Plug it into the charging stand via USB-C and it fully recharges in about three hours.

The fan has five airflow speeds plus a Boost mode for extra turbo charged power, so you can go from gentle cooling at work, for example, to fast relief while exploring a new city in the extreme heat. Frequencies are lowered with the HushJet nozzle, which Dyson says eliminates the high-pitched whirring and whining motors you usually get with such fans.  It runs at 52dB in speed one, 68dB in speed five, and 72.5dB in boost mode.
