Kanto Audio today introduced Tuk Grand and the second-generation Tuk, two powered speakers built around upgraded drivers, redesigned cabinets, and flexible wired and wireless connectivity.
Both models use an Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter with an aluminum concave woofer, paired with Class-D amplification and custom DSP tuning. The redesigned AMT is engineered for smoother high-frequency response and improved detail.
Founded in Canada in 2007, Kanto focuses on making high-quality audio easier to bring into everyday spaces. This launch continues that approach with compact powered speakers designed for strong sound, straightforward setup, and long-term compatibility.
Tuk Grand
Tuk Grand builds on the Tuk platform with a hand-built cabinet, increased internal volume, and re-engineered drivers led by a 6″ aluminum concave woofer. It extends bass response to 40 Hz while maintaining a balanced presentation across music, film, and everyday listening.
The design also reflects a sharper visual direction for Kanto, with cleaner lines, defined geometry, and proportions intended to give the speaker a more deliberate presence in a room.
Tuk, (2nd Generation)
The second-generation Tuk has been revoiced with a new DSP profile and a larger cabinet. Kanto’s combing waveguide and wider AMT tweeter dispersion are designed to improve high-frequency smoothness and consistency across different listening positions.
Its updated enclosure uses precise surfaces, controlled geometry, and visual contrast to support acoustic performance while giving the speaker a more refined appearance.
“We designed this generation with a clear purpose,” says Kanto Creative Director Kevin Reid. “Every acoustic, visual, and functional decision was made to improve everyday listening. Our goal is to make hi-fi more approachable with products that sound good, fit naturally into a space, and remain useful for years.”
Connectivity is selected for broad compatibility across common listening setups. Dual RCA line-level, optical (TOSLINK™), USB-C, and Bluetooth® 5.4 with aptX Adaptive support turntables, TVs, computers, mobile devices, and streaming sources. A USB-C charge output and selectable sub-out provide room for future expansion.
Both models feature Kanto’s updated design language, with clean forms and finishes selected to work in a variety of rooms. Tuk Grand is offered in Matte Black, Matte White, and Matte Walnut; Tuk adds Matte Burl and Gloss Butter, for five finishes in total.
