It’s that time again! The time when Amazon releases a whole new suite of Kindle devices suitable for book and comics lovers, adults and kids. There are several new models in the line, each with a new flush-front display without a raised border. They are also thinner and more portable overall, with new finish options that wraps from front to back.

The line starts with the 6-inch Kindle, a pocket-sized eReader with 16GB storage and up to six weeks of battery life. You get 30% faster book opening with a lighter design and a housing made of recycled materials. It is also powered by a 100% recyclable cobalt battery. Pricing starts at $190 in Canada and $150 in the U.S. and it’s available in Graphite or the new Ube finish. There’s also a version with aluminum back for the first time for a more premium feel and double the storage at 32GB for $190 in the U.S. It’s available in Alpine Sky Aluminum and Seaglass Green Aluminum.

The new Kindle Paperwhite is thinner and lighter, waterproof, and comes with an adjustable warm light. You get up to 12 weeks battery life per charge and high contrast ratio thanks to the oxide-thin film transistor backplane. The Signature Edition adds an aluminum rear housing, 32GB of storage, an auto-adjusting front light, pogo pin dock charging, and double tap to turn pages. The standard Paperwhite has 16GB storage and comes in Graphite starting at $280 in Canada and $200 in the U.S. while the Signature Edition is available in Graphite and Seaglass Green for $230 in Canada right now, down from its regular price of $330, and in the U.S. for $250.

The Kindle Colorsoft offers paper-like colours without the glare of a tablet, ideal for comics, graphic novels, and travel guides. The display includes a light-guide with nitride LEDs to enhance colour and increase brightness without washing out details. It uses an oxide backplane with custom waveforms for fast performance and offers higher contrast on both colour and black-and-white content. The light guide contains micro-deflectors that minimize stray light and improve uniformity while an ultra-thin optical coating in the display stack improves clarity.

It’s available with 16GB of storage in Graphite starting at $380 in Canada and $290 in the U.S. The Colorsoft Signature Edition has an aluminum housing, 32GB of storage, an auto-adjusting front light, double tap to turn pages, and pogo pin dock charging, and comes in Graphite and Fig for $430 in Canada and $320 in the U.S.

All three models also come in kids’ versions with kid-friendly covers designed by real artists, and 12 months of Amazon Kids+ included, with access to thousands of books and audiobooks. Models start at US$180.

There are also new Kindle accessories. Kindle Click (US$35) is a compact Bluetooth remote for page turning that is compatible with all new Kindle devices, as well as any Kindle model from 2024 or later. Page-Turn Cover (US$80) is a magnetic cover with physical page-turn buttons that preserves the slim form factor, using pogo pin connectivity. It’s available for Paperwhite Signature Edition and Colorsoft Signature Edition.
The Charging Dock (US$60) is a stand that keeps Paperwhite Signature Edition and Colorsoft Signature Edition upright and charged. Finally, there are Kindle Covers (starting at US$40) in knit fabric, plant-based leather, and pebbled premium leather that wrap fully around the device for a seamless finish, colour-matched across the lineup. For devices with aluminum housing, slim magnetic-attach covers are also available.

Kindle and its aluminum versions are available in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Poland, Japan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, and Australia.
