ePaper device manufacturer BOOX has introduced its Go6 mini eReader, which delivers a paper-like experience with Android OS and special reading features.
Available for US$150, the BOOX Go 6 comes equipped with a 6” (1,448 x 1,072) HD Carta 1300 glass capacitive touch screen with flat cover lens, the latest generation of E Ink display technology. The monochrome e-reader provides sharp text and images on an e-friendly screen, says the company.
With native access to the NeoReader reading app, it opens 20 document formats and comes with reading features to do things like highlight, annotate, adjust layout, and use TTS. NeoReader is constantly being upgraded via continuous updates as well. The latest firmware V3.5.3, for example, allows you to choose a light or dark mode.
Running on an open Android OS 12, each device has been preinstalled with the Google Play Store, offering direct access to favourite apps for reading, web browsing, and audio listening. It runs on a minimalist UI with built-in apps like BOOXDrop, PushRead, and AI Assistant. There’s a G-sensor for auto rotation, built-in microphone, and USB-C charging.
While the eReader is equipped with an octa-core CPU with 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM, it is still compact in size, just 6.8mm thin and weighing 160 grams. It comes with an expandable microSD card slot for adding more storage and includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. The 1,500 mAh lithium-ion polymer battery lasts for days per charge.
