C SEED, a luxury entertainment technology company founded in 2009 and headquartered in Vienna, Austria (with a showroom and office in Beverly Hills) will be showing its N1 TV at CES 2024, and it’s quite a stunning piece of artwork and technology. The 137-inch indoor TV, which the company launched back in summer 2022, folds into a stand when you aren’t using it then unfolds (not just lifts) out from it when you’re ready to watch.
The C SEED N1 TV has a fully automated opening through which the TV takes 60 seconds to rise to its 7.8-foot height. It’s comprised of five panels that silently unfold over another 25 seconds to showcase the 137-inch 4K microLED display. All in all, it takes about a minute-and-a-half to go from hidden TV to ready to watch.
Made of aerospace aluminum, C SEED says the N1 has a favourable „stiffness-to-weight ratio,“ which offers an advantage for „folding kinetics.“ Along with 4K picture quality, it also offers HDR10_ support and has a screen surface coating called N1 Total Black that helps ensure darker blacks and vibrant colours without any glare.
C SEED says that the TV automatically calibrates each time it unfolds to adapt tot he lighting conditions, including brightness, through Adaptive Gap Calibration developed by C SEED. The screen can rotate 180° left and right to accomodate different viewing situations. It also boasts integrated audio via two 100-watt broadband speakers. Once folded back into its base, the TV stand looks like a metal sculpture.
Additional specs include 1,000 nits brightness, 64 billion colours at 16-bit per colour, 3,840 Hz refresh rate, 30,000:1 contrast ratio, and 170° viewing angle. The TV has five HDMI inputs, one with HDCP 2.2 support, two USB in/outputs, a pre-amp 9.2 audio output, independent sub, and one RF45 network jack. It’s not a smart TV, but you could plug a streaming stick or connect a streaming player via HDMI.
Engineered and produced in Austria, N1 TVs are available in C SEED Silver and C SEED Champagne colours, in the aforementioned 137-inch size as well as a smaller 103-incher and larger 165-incher.
This is one TV that will be worth checking out at the show. But keep in mind that at in and around US$200,000, it’s reserved for the ultra-high-end market. The C SEED N1 TV will be on display at the show at C SEED’s booth 19748 in Central Hall.
