Headphones and speaker manufacturer Cleer Audio has announced the appointment of Hideaki Yamaguchi (Yama) as the company’s new CEO, effective immediately.
Yamaguchi brings a wealth of experience to the position. He possesses an extensive background in consumer electronics, global management, growth strategy, sales/marketing, and operations. He is known for his strategic thinking and meticulous operations, says Cleer Audio, as he navigates his teams and company to prevail in highly competitive landscapes.

Having spent more than two decades with Sony Electronics, Yamaguchi served as that company’s senior manager and director of product marketing for business planning and strategy, working in the U.S., Japan, and Europe. Most recently, Yamaguchi was head of global operations at Swann Communications, a position he held for the last six years. Prior to that, he was head of Japan sales and marketing at Logitech, based in Japan. Yama holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Kyoto University.
“It is an honour and privilege to serve as CEO of Cleer Audio,” says Yamaguchi. “I am truly impressed by Cleer’s passion and commitment to design and build high-performance and high-design audio products. I look forward to working closely with the Cleer team and business partners and driving strong and sustainable growth together.”
Yamaguchi was recruited by Cleer Audio following the resignation and departure of Patrick Huang this summer. He is based in San Diego, CA and will work from Cleer Audio’s U.S. headquarters.
Cleer Audio will unveil new models at CES 2025, with other new introductions planned in 2025. Retailers and press can meet Yama at CES 2025 in Las Vegas.
