Huawei has introduced the new Mate XT | Ultimate Design, which is dubs as the “world’s first” commercial tri-fold smartphone.
The phone has a massive, tablet-like 10.2-inch display once unfolded, yet remains ultra-thin at just 3.6mm when fully unfolded. It has a precision hinge system whereby the inward and outward folding hinges operate around a dual-track link to ensure balanced and smooth opening and closing. As a tri-fold screen, you can use it in single screen mode, dual screen, and triple screen. The single screen measures 6.4 inches and dual screen 7.9 inches.
Equipped with a 3K Huawei X-True display, you can enjoy the Multiview in One experience, which supports seamless switching among the single, dual, and triple screen modes. In triple screen model, you get immersive viewing and easy multitasking. Use dual screen mode for information browsing, like reading articles and checking e-mails. Fold it down to a single screen for quick tasks like calls and photography.
The camera module design employs the same asymmetric Star Diamond design found in previous Ultimate Design products. The upgraded Sinusoidal Cutting design features sharper lines and a more three-dimensional structure. There’s also Eonic Curves on the camera lens module, which affords a distinctive, one-of-a-kind look for each phone, says Huawei.
The phone has a 10-size adjustable physical aperture for snapping photos, from faraway to close up shots. There’s also ultra speed snapshot for capturing high-speed motion.
The ultra-thin leather measures as thin as 0.47mm and provides a nice grainy feel that is soft on the outside and tough on the inside. The phone comes in either black or red.
