At IFA 2024 in Berlin, Amazfit, the smart wearable brand by Zepp Health, has launched the third generation of its ultra-durable T-Rex smartwatch, the T-Rex 3.
Designed for outdoor adventurers, the Amazfit T-Rex 3 is meets military-grade durability standards and offers navigation, long battery life, and a large AMOLED display.
The 1.5-inch AMOLED display is 16% larger and 100% brighter than the previous generation T-Rex model at up to 2,000 nits peak brightness, and the body is upgraded to stainless steel. It comes with access to free offline maps and contour maps with turn directions, and more health features like readiness and heart rate variability.
Choose from more than 170 workout modes, including the new Hyrox Race mode, Freediving, Ultramarathon, and an upgraded Strength Training mode. With this mode, you can create your own training templates in the Zepp app and sync them to the watch to then follow the routine from your wrist.
The battery lasts for up to 27 days with typical usage, or up to 180 hours (about a week) of maximum GPS usage. Enhanced privacy measures offer options for GPS discretion. You can choose permanent cloud storage of GPS data, temporary cloud storage, no cloud upload, or even disable GPS permissions entirely. Multiple data backup methods are also supported, including automatic e-mail backup, automatic cloud backup, local backup to mobile systems, and export of sports data files.
Zepp OS 4, which the company claims to be the “world’s first” smartwatch with “fully integrated AI,” is included. It affords connectivity to third-party fitness devices, and comes with an AI assistant powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4o technology. Zepp Pay is included for making contactless payments, though it is limited to 30 countries in Europe right now.
The Amazfit T-Rex 3 is now available with prices starting from US$280.
