TP-Link has introduced two new smart home products, the KD110 Kasa Smart 2K video doorbell and the KC420WS Kasa smart outdoor security Wi-Fi 2K camera.
The KD110 Kasa Smart Video Doorbell replaces existing wired doorbells providing a 24/7 live view of the entryway through the Kasa app. It is equipped with AI algorithms for motion detection and person detection, so you will receive immediate push notifications when someone is at the door. Answer the door remotely with the push-to-talk two-way audio with video.
The camera features 2K video with a 160-degree diagonal field-of-view and offers 30 feet of black and white night vision to view a standard walkway at night. The doorbell is weather-resistant with an IP64 rating, and a chime is included with purchase.
The KC420WS Kasa Smart Outdoor Security Wi-Fi Camera is a wired outdoor camera that offers 2K HD and 4MP resolution video. Dual-integrated spotlights and Kasa Smart’s Starlight Sensor enables crisp, coloured images in lowlight conditions, says TP-Link, and a long-distance view of up to 98 feet. Two-way talk is accessible at the push of a button, and you can trigger the built-in speaker to play a siren to ward off intruders. The camera includes a 10-foot wire for flexible deployment.
Both cameras feature the ability to create custom activity zones, which are grids you can create in video feed over vulnerable or important areas (such as a driveway or windows) to receive instant motion-detected notifications. The smart cameras are fully compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant and can play video on a supported display with Amazon Echo Show or Google Chromecast.
Existing Kasa users will find benefits through creating triggers within the Kasa Smart app. You can create triggers from cameras (such as motion detection), which turn on various indoor Kasa light switches or Kasa light strips.
The Kasa Smart Outdoor Security Wi-Fi 2K Camera KC420WS and Kasa Smart 2K Video Doorbell KD110 are both available for an MSRP of US$60 each.
