Kensington Launches Thunderbolt 4 Dock with Multi-Monitor Support

Kensington has introduced the SD5900T EQ Thunderbolt 4 Quad 4K 40Gbps dock with DisplayLink technology, designed to help workers get the most out of their MacBook.

The dock provides for up to four external displays, 40Gbps data transfer speeds, up to 100W (96W certified) charging for the MacBook and connected accessories, and a 16-in-1 design. Optimized to support MacBook running macOS 11 or above, the SD5900T leverages the power of Thunderbolt 4 and DisplayLink technology.

It supports up to quad 4K @ 60Hz for MacBook M1/M2/M3 with Pro and Max chipsets, and M3 base chipset with laptop lid closed. It also supports up to triple 4K @ 60Hz for base M1/M2 chipsets. There are two Thunderbolt downstream and one DisplayPort ports for plug-and-play video. Two HDMI/DisplayPort options are available with DisplayLink technology.

Designed for MacBook, the SD5900T delivers Thunderbolt 4 and is optimized to support MacBook with M1, M2, and M3 chipsets running macOS11. The design mirrors the midnight blue aesthetic of the latest MacBook.

Thunderbolt 4 Hybrid Technology combines Thunderbolt and DisplayLink technologies to provide up to 40Gbps of data, video, and audio, and provide daisy chain support for SSDs, monitors, and other Thunderbolt devices. Peripheral devices are blocked for unauthorized access to system memory using Intel VT-d DMA protection.

With up to 100W (96W certified) charging, the SD5900T powers the MacBook while also charging connected accessories including iPhones, AirPods, and Apple Watches. KonstantCharge charging enables connected devices to charge even when the MacBook is undocked.

The 16-in-1 design includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports capable of data, video, and audio, one USB-C 3.2 Gen2 10Gbps, one USB-A 3.2 Gen2 10Gbps, two USB-A 3.2 Gen1 5Gbps, two HDMI/DisplayPort, one DisplayPort, one 3.4mm combination audio jack, one SD card reader, one microSD card reader, and one 2.5Gbps Ethernet port.

The SD5900T can be mounted out of the way using an optional mounting bracket (K34050WW). Compatible Kensington cable locks (K65020WW or K65021WW) protect the device from theft.
