Kodak Alaris has announced the launch of the Kodak S5000 Series scanners along with the latest release of Kodak Capture Pro software.
The S5000 Series replaces the KODAK i5000 Series scanners, and are designed to meet the needs of high-volume, high-precision scanning environments. You can switch between imaging modes to optimize scanning operations for specific workflows. In particular, the Kodak S5160, S5180, and S5210 scanners support the standards and requirements of the US Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative (FADGI) out of the box and provide a simple process to enable FADGI mode when necessary.

With improved image quality, faster capture speeds and accuracy, these new models also offer superior paper protection and versatile media handling capabilities. They can capture up to 1,260 images per minute (ipm) thanks to enhanced Dynamic Flow Technology which features 32 powerful CPU cores, and new Tri-Stream scanning capabilities which enables operators to ‘Scan-Once, Output-Many.’
Perfect Page technology delivers consistent high-quality images while advanced Intelligent Document Protection ‘listens’ for paper feeding problems and notifies you before jams or misfeeds occur, helping safeguard valuable data and further improve efficiency. Metal detection detects stray staples, paper clips, and other metallic objects to ensure all documents are scanned without damage or skipped pages.

In addition, the Kodak S5210 scanner includes a unique Image Addressing feature that enables you to sequentially scan batches of documents with a unique batch and document identifier, ideal for more complex scanning requirements.
Easy to set up and use, S5000 Series scanners feature a large and intuitive 9.3-inch control panel with a 7.5-inch-high contrast touchscreen which enables operators to choose scanning profiles, resolve issues, and monitor device status with a simple swipe and tap.
The Kodak S5000 Series scanners are optimized to work with Kodak Capture Pro Software. Version 7.0 uses true 64-bit processing for powerful and robust scanning and includes an updated and modern user interface designed to simplify scanning tasks.

A Continuous Cropping Mode enables you to scan documents of unlimited length by breaking the images down into pieces. When paired with Capture Pro V7.0, the images can be stitched back together to create a single image that is better than the original.
“We continue to invest in our product lines to help our customers power up their digital transformation, document compliance policies, and document capture processes,” says Megan Bevilacqua, Senior Product Manager at Kodak Alaris. “This launch builds on our long history of leadership in the document capture space and further enhances our broad scanner portfolio, combining unparalleled ease of use with proprietary features to make it easy for operators to capture paper-based information and deliver the data into core business applications, quickly and accurately.”
