Motorola Edge 2024 Coming Soon to Canada

The Motorola Edge 2024 is coming to Canada and the U.S. soon, marking an alternative option in the mid-range smartphone market.

The Motorola Edge 2024 has a 6.6-inch pOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz touch rate for faster responsiveness, says the company. Running on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 mobile platform, it comes with 256GB built-in storage and RAM Boost to use as needed, converting unused storage into virtual RAM so you can enjoy more data intensive tasks and multitasking.

The phone supports ultra-fast TurboPower charging of the 5,000mAh all-day battery and is also compatible with 15W wireless charging. The phone is IP68 rated, able to withstand both water and dust, and can be submerged in up to 1.5 metres of freshwater for up to 30 minutes.

Finished in Midnight Blue vegan leather, the Motorola Edge has a 50MP camera system with enhanced low light features, Auto Night Vision that Motorola says is 15 times faster than the previous generation, and Sony’s LYTIA 700C image sensor, which the company says absorbs more light and produces more detailed images. There’s also OIS to smooth out involuntary hand motion and create stable, blur-free photos, in addition to Adaptive Stabilization, which uses AI to determine camera movement and optimize stabilization for better results.

With Google Photos, you can access additional editing and AI tools, including Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Google Auto Enhance, which automatically improves color and lighting.

Alongside the 50MP main camera, there’s a 13MP ultra wide-angle lens for group shots, a Macro Vision lens, and a 32MP front camera for selfies.

A new Quick Button on the side can be set to launch a favourite app or a specific action within an app. On the phone screen itself, select colors and fonts that fit your personality and use intuitive gestures to customize the device to your unique identity.

The Motorola Edge 2024 also comes with Moto Secure 2.0, Moto Unplugged, and Family Space. It will be available in the U.S. starting June 20 for an MSRP of $550 and is coming to Canada through select carriers and retailers in the coming months.
