OnePlus has revealed its new OnePlus Pad 2, a tablet that boasts significant upgrades from its predecessor, including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform, a 12.1-inch 3K display, six stereo speakers, and more. Combine it with the OnePlus Stylo 2 and OnePlus Smart Keyboard and it becomes a productivity device as well as one for entertainment.
The OnePlus Pad 2 shares internet with your compatible phone, syncs media, shares clipboards/notifications, and allows remote file access. App Relay enables seamless switching between phone and tablet. When paired with the OnePlus Smart Keyboard, the NFC file transfer between the OnePlus Pad 2 and OnePlus phones is ultra-fast, regardless of file size, says the company, even when the tablet is locked.

To fully leverage the 12.1-inch big screen, OnePlus has brought the Open Canvas feature from OnePlus Open to the OnePlus Pad 2. Open Canvas supports up to three split-screen apps simultaneously, with each app shown in its best adaptation. There’s also the ability to extend the flow beyond the OnePlus Pad 2’s own screen.
As expected, the OnePlus Pad 2 also integrates AI features. Through the AI Toolbox, you can have AI Speak read text aloud while multitasking. Call up Recording Summary to summarize and condense information from long passages of text into key points. Meanwhile, use AI Writer for help creating original content based on image and text prompts. You can even convert recorded audio into text and generate concise summaries with Recording Summary.
For visual content editing, use the enhanced AI Eraser 2.0 to remove unwanted individuals and objects from photos with a single tap. Smart Cutout 2.0 can recognize and isolate up to three subjects or subject groups in images, making it easier than ever to cut, copy, and share image content.

The 12.1-inch large 3K display offers a 7:5 aspect ratio, peak brightness of 900 nits, and 3,000 x 2,120 pixels at a density of 303 PPI. The tablet also includes Dolby Vision and an advanced software algorithm that dynamically adjusts the refresh rate seamlessly among 30Hz, 48Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, and 144Hz based on the detected scenario.
The OnePlus Pad 2 also offers immersive hi-resolution spatial audio through six strategically positioned speakers on both sides of the device. On top of this, the OnePlus Pad 2’s Hi-Res certification ensures improved audio quality when paired with wired or wireless earbuds like the OnePlus Buds 3 or OnePlus Buds Pro 2.
The 9,510mAh battery affords up to 43 days of standby time, and the tablet charges in 81 minutes using the supported 67W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge technology. The centrally positioned 8MP front camera and 13MP rear camera eliminate the need to adjust the tablet’s position when taking photos and videos.
Measuring just 6.49mm slim and weighing 584 grams, the lightweight pad features a Nimbus Gray all-metal unibody crafted with precision CNC cutting, sandblasting, and anodization to create a sleek and seamless look that is also durable and scratch-resistant.

The OnePlus Stylo 2 and the OnePlus Smart Keyboard are two new accessories to accompany the OnePlus Pad 2. Crafted from leather-like material, the OnePlus Stylo 2 boasts hyper-realistic pen-tip vibration achieved through an advanced linear motor. Through 16,000 levels of pressure sensitivity and zero-millisecond delay tracking, the stylus offers an enhanced grip with a smooth, life-like writing and drawing sensation that simulates the effect of real ink, even when only light pressure is applied.
The new OnePlus Smart Keyboard, meanwhile, more than doubles the size of the previous 3,483mm² touchpad with an 8,640mm² touch-sensitive area. Through a robust magnetic attachment, it also offers adjustable tilt angles between 110° and 165° and provides maximum flexibility with its ability to be used while physically attached to the OnePlus Pad 2 via a pogo-pin or used detached when connected via Bluetooth.
The OnePlus Pad 2 is priced at $750 in Canada for the 12GB+256GB version, while the OnePlys Stylo 2 is $150 and the OnePlus Smart Keyboard $200. There’s also a OnePlus Folio Case 2 available for $60.
The OnePlus Pad 2 and accessories will be available to purchase starting July 30 on OnePlus.com, and Amazon availability in Canada will follow in August.
