Pioneer is jumping on the retro nostalgia bandwagon with its new Heritage Collection aftermarket car electronics, which pairs a head unit with speakers. The design is reminiscent of its products from the ’80s and ’90s, but with reimagined features for modern-day drivers, including Bluetooth, HD Radio, and SiriusXM readiness, along with custom EQ.

The SXT-C10PS head unit brings a single-DIN, period-correct faceplate, inspired by Pioneer’s classic KEH-series. The TS-X40SXT speakers draw from the iconic style of Japanese box speakers with a wire mesh grille and dark silver finish. It carries forward the design first introduced with the TS-X60 in 1984, but now built into a surface-mount three-way box speaker and made from modern-classic interiors.
“With the Heritage Collection, we’re going back to our roots, the iconic designs that defined a generation of drivers, and pairing them with the technology those same drivers rely on now,” says Larry Rougas, Executive Vice President & Chief Revenue Officer at Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. “Our goal was to make that history feel present again.”

Deep-profile cellulose fibre cone woofers and a double-slit bass-reflex enclosure deliver rich, full-bodied bass, says Pioneer, while a larger-diameter cellulose fibre cone tweeter “adds clarity and presence in the mid-to-high range.”
The SXT-C10PS head unit is US$499 and the TS-X40SXT speakers US$299, and both are available for pre-order. They will be available for purchase at authorized retailers and dealers in November 2026.
