Power Group Vendor Fair Kicks off with Lively Cocktail Reception

There’s nothing like a face-to-face meeting and for many, the Power Group Vendor Fair, which kicked off with a well-attended outdoor cocktail reception earlier this evening, was the first time in three years that many of the members have seen each other in person.

The Power Group Vendor Fair, a staple annual event that brings the buying group’s members together with the key suppliers in both consumer electronics and appliances, has been sidelined like everything else for the past two years due to Covid, is back stronger than ever, hosting their first in-person buying event since 2019 from September 11 to 13 in Montreal, Quebec.

Jim Murphy, Power Group’s President was visibly energized to have a full roster of members from Victoria to St John, that collectively represent over 600 storefronts, back together.  “Our mandate with the Vendor Fair is to bring strong independent retailers together with the key decision makers within the consumer electronics and appliance industry and create programs that guarantee the success of our members through the important Q4 and beyond.  We are here to write business” adds Murphy “in an environment that says we are back-to-business.”

While CE numbers stayed strong through the Covid isolation, nothing says back-to-business like face-to-face gatherings.  Over the next two days vendors including Gentec, LG, Lenbrook, Yamaha, Samsung and Erikson will be showing new product releases as well as presenting programs to keep the independent channel strong and relevant. Judging from the smiles, attendees could not be happier being back together.
