Prime Video Launches Preferred Languages in Canada

Amazon Prime Video customers in Canada can now personalize their recommendations by choosing a preferred language or languages for audio and subtitles. The options include up to five languages from over 35 that are available.

The 35 available languages for audio and subtitles include English, French (Canada), Spanish, Hindi, Japanese, Telegu, Tamil, and Korean, among others. The idea behind the feature is to make it easier for subscribers to discover and stream content.

Once you select the preferred language or languages, titles will be filtered on the homepage to show mostly titles that include audio, either original or dubbed, or subtitles in that language. You will also be able to view groups of content specific to that language selection, like movies and shows originally in Hindi or ones with Korean dubbing. If you select multiple languages, all of the selected choices will populate the homepage.

To access the feature, navigate to your profile settings, select Edit Profile, then Streaming Languages. From there, you can see and change your preferences. You can update the profile preferences on any streaming device, and this will update them across all your devices connectd to that same account with the same profile, from a smart TV to a laptop, smartphone, and/or tablet.

If you want to see content from multiple languages, select all those languages when choosing the preferred streaming languages. This doesn’t mean you’ll only see content in those languages, but it will highlight that content above others so you get a more personalized experience.
