Tapo’s First Matter-Compatible Plug is Coming

Tapo, a smart home brand from TP-Link, will begin offering its first Matter-compatible product, the Tapo P125M mini smart Wi-Fi plug, starting January 17.

The Tapo P125M works with all the popular smart home platforms, including Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Samsung SmartThings thanks to Matter integration. You can also use voice assistance directly in the Tapo app.

Thanks to the unified experience provided by Matter, the smart plug makes it simple to interact with various certified smart devices, regardless of manufacturer. You can also share management permissions with family members via different ecosystems.

Use it to create and schedule scenes and manually turn connected devices on and off remotely from your phone or tablet using the Tapo app. An auto-off timer supports automatic shut-off as well should the plug be left on for longer than a set duration. There’s also an Away mode will also automatically turn devices on and off at different times, so you can make it seem as though someone is home when you are away for an extended period of time.

The Tapo P125M works with higher-power appliances, including everything from kettles, coffee makers, and toasters, as well as items like lamps, fans, and even TVs. And thanks to the compact design, it doesn’t block adjacent sockets

The TP-Link Tapo P125M is available for an MSRP of US$20.
