Walmart Canada Launches Delivery Pass

Walmart Canada is upping the ante for its online delivery with a new Delivery Pass that will afford shoppers unlimited, free next-day delivery on thousands of items for an annual cost of $89.

The Delivery Pass, which will be $89 per year or $8.97/mo., is applicable to more than 65,000 items Walmart sells, including groceries and general merchandise, including electronics, toys, and clothing. There is a small catch, though: there’s a minimum $35 order before taxes and fees. The service is already available in Ottawa and will launch in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver followed by other locations across Canada later this summer.

“We’re transforming our omnichannel offering to better serve Canadians, aiming to build the most efficient, consistent, and affordable way to shop in Canada,” says Laurent Duray, Chief eCommerce Officer, Walmart Canada. “Delivery Pass is going to be a gamechanger for Canadians by giving them the products they need, when and how they want them, at the best prices.”

“We’re excited to launch today and already have ambitious plans to evolve the program and unlock new features,” adds Ignacio Baladron, Vice President, Omnichannel Operations, Walmart Canada. “Delivery Pass is just getting started!”

Items delivered under the Pass will be the same price as they are in store, and Walmart Canada says it will continue to enhance the program to provide more features going forward.

Currently, the Delivery Pass can be purchased through the Walmart Canada app and works when shopping at or the app. Select a delivery time slot, add items to the cart with a minimum $35 order before fees and taxes, and the delivery fees will be waived once you flip to checkout. You can choose to have the order arrive the next day or, if you’re in a rush, you can pay to upgrade to same-day or express delivery, both of which are offered at a discounted rate for passholders.
