Acer is the latest brand to announce new Chromebook Plus laptops, following on the heels of Google’s announcement of the Chromebook Plus format, which adds powerful AI capabilities.
Acer is launching two models, the Acer Chromebook 515 and Acer Chromebook 514, both of which feature AI-powered Google and Adobe features along with ultra-fast speeds, ample memory, and lots of storage.
The Acer Chromebook Plus 515 comes with a large 15.6-inch Full HD display (1,920 x 1,080) and powerful 13th Gen and 12th Gen Intel Core processors with hybrid technology. It offers up to 10 hours of battery life per charge. The Acer Chromebook Plus 514 includes an up to AMD Ryzen 5 7520-C processor in its compact form factor, which includes a 14-inch touch or non-touch WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) display. It can run for up to 12 hours per charge.
Each Chromebook has between 8 GB to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, combined with responsive SSD local storage options of up to 256 GB for the 14-inch Acer Chromebook Plus and up to 512 GB for the 15-inch version. In addition, both new models stay connected with fast and reliable Wi-Fi 6E as well as Bluetooth 5.1 and also include an array of ports for charging, data transfer and display extension including dual USB Type-C ports and HDMI.
Both new models sport a stylish and premium design, and conform to MIL-STD 810H durability standards. They each include an OceanGlass touchpad and the option for a backlit keyboard.
There’s also a 1080p webcam with Temporal Noise Reduction, high-resolution IPS displays, and built-in AI-powered tools for optimum video conferencing and consumption experiences by automatically enhancing clarity and lighting, canceling noise, and blurring backgrounds so you always look and sound your best, no matter what conferencing app is used. Also, a physical webcam shutter is added and can be closed to protect privacy during meetings, classes, and conferences while users can also mute the mic and turn off the camera with one click for added convenience. Plus, the first-rate visuals are complemented by dual upward-firing speakers with DTS Audio.
Using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Express, you can edit photos and create complex graphics, right from the Chromebook. Acer Chromebook Plus users get Photoshop on the web and Adobe Express Premium plan for three months at no additional cost. With Firefly-powered generative AI features and Photoshop together with Adobe Express’s all-in-one app, you can create all types of images.
Built-in editing capabilities also enable quicker and easier photo and video enhancements. For example, the AI-powered Magic Eraser feature in the built-in Google Photos app easily removes unwanted distractions, while a few easy clicks of the movie creation tools provide advanced video edits.
When Acer Chromebook Plus users are away from an internet connection, they can now take advantage of File Sync, which ensures Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides are always accessible via Chromebook Plus File Manager, whether online or offline.

Will both be available in October starting, and both start at an MSRP of $550 with multiple configurations available.
