Sonance is showing several new James speaker series at CEDIA Expo 2025, which is currently underway in Denver from September 3-6, 2025.
Sonance James BE MKII In-Wall Theatre Speaker Series

The James BE MKII in-wall theatre speaker series includes the BE806 MKII, QX-BE806 MKII, BE808 MKII, and BE812 MKII models. The series features enhanced CDX crossover technology that delivers smooth frequency response and consistent coverage both on and off-axis. This engineering advancement, says Sonance, ensures optimal sound quality throughout the listening area, regardless of seating position.
A key advantage of the BE MKII series is its neutral voicing, which streamlines the setup and calibration processes for integrators. Rather than requiring extensive speaker correction, the neutral voicing allows installers to focus their EQ work on room tuning, which can help reduce installation time.
“The BE MKII series represents our commitment to making high-performance home theatre more accessible to both integrators and end users,” says Jason Sloan, Chief Revenue Officer, Luxury Residential at Sonance. “By eliminating the need for complex speaker corrections, we’re allowing installers to focus on what matters most: optimizing the system for the specific room.”
The BE MKII series replaces the previous generation. BE806 MKII replaces BE806; QX-BE806 MKII replaces QX-BE806; BE808 MKII replaces BE808; and the BE812 MKII replaces BE812. The BE MKII series will begin shipping in September.
James QX Quadratech In-Wall Speaker Series

Also on display at CEDIA Expo 2025 is the reimagined in-wall QX speaker series, which features advanced Quadratech tweeter technology that streamlines setup and calibration for custom integrators.
The QX Quadratech series includes four models: QX530QT, QX630QT, QX830QT, and QX-SPL5QT, each engineered to provide advancements in performance and fidelity with even, consistent coverage throughout the listening space. The centrepiece of the new series is James’ proprietary Quadratech tweeter, which, when combined with the CDX crossover system, delivers smooth frequency response and consistent coverage both on and off-axis, ensuring optimal sound quality regardless of listener position.
“The QX Quadratech series represents years of acoustic engineering focused on solving real-world integration challenges,” comments Skylar Gray, Product Director at Sonance. “The Quadratech tweeter doesn’t just improve sound quality, it fundamentally changes how integrators approach system calibration.”
A key advantage of the QX Quadratech series is its neutral voicing, which eliminates the need for extensive speaker correction during installation. This allows integrators to focus their EQ work on room tuning rather than compensating for speaker deficiencies, in turn reducing installation time.
The series replaces several existing models with enhanced versions. QX530QT replaces QX530; QX630QT replaces QX630; QX830QT replaces QX830; and QX-SPL5QT replaces both QX-SPL3 and QX-SPL5. The QX Quadratech series will begin shipping in late September 2025.
James Wedge WX Series Speakers

The new James Wedge WX Series include the WX48QT and WX58QT models, which incorporate advanced Quadratech tweeter technology while addressing key installation and grille retention challenges.
The Wedge WX Series development was guided by three primary customer requirements: enhanced performance, simplified installation, and improved grille retention. James engineers responded with comprehensive updates that address each concern while maintaining the series’ signature wedge-shaped design optimized for under-cabinet and architectural applications.
“Customer feedback had a direct impact on the development of the new Wedge X,” notes Gray. “The WX Series represents our commitment to partnership and listening to our integrators so we can continue to deliver solutions that make their jobs easier while exceeding performance expectations.”
The WX Series features the same Quadratech tweeter technology found in James’ QX in-wall series combined with CDX crossover technology and neutral voicing so they require minimal EQ correction. Key enhancements include new woofers with an improved driver design for enhanced bass response; boundary switch that allows optimization for boundary or free-space placement; a grille clip magnetic retention system that eliminates grille loss issues; improved brackets for a secure, versatile installation; and customizable options with multiple lengths, channel configurations, and 16 standard finishes.
The boundary switch addresses a common installation challenge by allowing the same speaker to be optimized for different placement scenarios, whether mounted against a boundary surface or in free space. The new grille clip system addresses one of the most frequently reported issues with the previous generation, providing secure magnetic retention that prevents accidental grille removal while maintaining easy access for service.
The Wedge WX Series updates the existing lineup. The WX48QT replaces W42Q and W43Q and the WX58QT replaces W52Q and W53Q. The Wedge WX Series will begin shipping in late in Q4.
James PowerPipe X Series

The James PowerPipe X Series is a reimagined lineup of hidden bass solutions designed to seamlessly integrate into any architectural environment. The new series represents a comprehensive update to the company’s 20-year-old PowerPipe concept, delivering true subwoofer performance while maintaining the “designed to disappear” philosophy, says Sonance.
The PowerPipe X Series includes eight models across four performance levels: PPX8/PPX8-M, PPX10/PPX10-M, PPX12/PPX12-M, and PPX15/PPX15-M, with both standard MDF and marine-rated options available for every model.
The PowerPipe X Series delivers low-frequency performance previously unavailable in hidden bass solutions, claims the company. The flagship PPX15 extends down to 29Hz (-3dB) with 88dB sensitivity, while the compact PPX8 reaches 44Hz with 85dB sensitivity. This performance range allows integrators to match the appropriate model to specific applications, from background music and TV sound enhancement to full home theatre installations.
“The PowerPipe concept has always tied beautifully into our ‘designed to disappear’ strategy and hidden bass messaging,” says Sloan. “After 20 years, it was time for a comprehensive update that would deliver true subwoofer performance while making installation more flexible than ever.”

Key improvements in the X Series include shorter, more flexible pipes that simplify routing in tight spaces, while a cleaned-up product line reduces complexity for dealers and integrators. The new design maintains the signature PowerPipe aesthetic while offering significantly more placement options.
There are four distinct trim options to blend seamlessly into any environment. Toe Kick is redesigned with improved airflow for higher SPL, magnetic grilles, and custom length options up to 12 inches. VXQ includes new grille adapters that install like VXQ speakers and work with existing square adapters, TRUFIG panels, and Flex brackets. SA is compatible with Small Aperture grille systems; Finally, there’s HVAC, discrete integration to match ventilation system trims.
The PowerPipe X Series streamlines the previous complex model matrix into a clear performance hierarchy. Each model is available in both standard and marine versions, eliminating confusion while providing options for every installation environment.
The new models replace multiple existing products. PPX8 replaces James PP6-M, PP8-M and Sonance BPS6, BPS8; PPX10 replaces James PP10; PPX12 replaces James PP12, PP12-2; and PPX15 replaces James PP15-M, PP12-2. The PowerPipe X Series will begin shipping in early 2026.
