CEDIA has announced the appointment of Christine DeJoy as Vice President of Communications, completing its new executive leadership team.

DeJoy has over 21 years of communications and public affairs experience in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. A former U.S. network television publicity and marketing specialist, she spent most of the last two decades working on U.S. and International broadcast and syndicated programming for NBC, Bravo, Fremantle, and CBS.

As director of public affairs and branded content marketing for Conner Prairie, DeJoy secured over 500 pieces of PR coverage, resulting in 1.32 billion in online readership in 2019 alone. Most recently, DeJoy oversaw communications for national clients across a diverse portfolio as vice president of Actual Agency.

At CEDIA, DeJoy will be responsible for guiding a global communications strategy, which includes traditional and new media to garner industry and consumer visibility while enhancing the organization’s reputation. This includes industry awareness efforts, media outreach, and building relationships with affiliated trade associations to promote CEDIA and its members to the widest possible audience.

“I’m honoured to join the CEDIA family as its Vice President of Communications,” says DeJoy. “With my background in the telecommunications, non-profit, and entertainment industries, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for what makes CEDIA so special. This organization plays a tremendous role in advocacy, connection, and education. I’m thrilled to be part of its evolution and growth.”

DeJoy’s hiring completes an experienced executive leadership team assembled by Global President and CEO Daryl Friedman. The team is made up of 50% percent women, includes voices from around the globe, and comes from an array of professional backgrounds spanning the custom integration, corporate, and non-profit sectors.

“Christine is a gifted communicator with a fresh perspective who can tell ‘the CEDIA story’ to a broad range of key audiences,” says Friedman. “She rounds out a well-balanced, professional executive team, and I’m honored to work alongside them.”
