Earlier this year, I wrote a list of several Canadian tech brands to consider when purchasing new tech, from speakers and turntables to smartphone cases and eSIMs. (If I’m missing companies, please reach out as the article will be continuously updated!) As we celebrate our home and native land for Canada Day 2025, here’s a highlight of some of the latest products from some of these fantastic Canadian companies.
Bluesound NODE Wireless Hi-Res Music Streamers

In August 2024, Bluesound, available in Canada through Lenbrook Industries, introduced three new NODE products: the NODE Nano, NODE, and Node Icon. The NODE Nano is perfect for entry use, the refreshed NODE affords better performance and cleaner processing, and the NODE Icon adds a 5-inch full-colour display and Dual-Mono DAC design. Use these to enjoy hifi audio through your speakers, playing tunes in a single room or throughout the house.
Kanto UKI Desktop Speaker

While it hasn’t officially launched to market just yet, Kanto showed its new UKI desktop speaker at CES 2025 earlier this year. Designed as an affordable desktop speaker for US$199 per pair, it employs a clamshell design and offers big sound in its compact package. Able to connect via Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, and RCA, it’s perfect for use with a modern turntable, desktop connected to your computer, or in a dorm. Kanto products are available in Canada through Gemsen.
Liteline Stripe Linear Linkable Lightbar

Liteline is proudly Canadian, distributed in Canada by Sherpa. While it’s not necessarily new, the Stripe Linear Linkable Lightbar is an eye-catching way to spruce up a luxury residential or commercial space. It’s a plug-and-play lighting system powered through junction boxes, electric device boxes, hardwiring, and plug-in. It comes in multiple lengths, and you can join up to 150 feet of lights without any light gaps. Install it in the garage for late-night lighting, the home (or commercial) gym, or even your home office or gaming room to provide a cool lighting effect that will turn heads.
Totem Acoustic Tribe Tower Thunderbird Speakers

Introduced just this Spring, the Totem Acoustic Tribe Tower Thunderbird is a floorstanding speaker with newly-engineered 6-inch Totem Torrent drivers and a proprietary tweeter that together, provide a rich and detailed soundstage. Striking in design with its obelisk-like shape, they come in Satin White, Satin Black, Premium Dusk (Black Gloss), or Premium Ice (White Gloss). They’ll set you back US$13,500 per pair (US$15,000/pr. for the high-gloss finish), but your living room or home theatre will ooze class and sophistication in both design and sound.
Pela Canada-Themed Smartphone Cases

Show off your homegrown pride with a Canada-themed case from Pela. Think everything from Canadian wildlife (yes, with moose, loons, beavers, and more), or signature red and white with Canadian flags, toques (yes, they’re toques not beanies!), hockey sticks, and more. There’s a buy one, get one free deal on the site (at the time of this writing) so grab one for a friend or family member, too.
Happy Canada Day!
