Totem Acoustic Introduces Tribe Tower Thunderbird

Totem Acoustic has launched their latest model, the Tribe Tower Thunderbird, that employs their universally acclaimed Torrent Technology, utilizing a brand new 6” mid-bass driver that required over three years of R&D to perfect. The all-new 6” Torrent driver is coupled with a new proprietary 1.3″ tweeter, allowing the Tribe Tower Thunderbird to become a reality. The speakers have a physical characteristic of a contemporary tall and sleek monolith, with the Torrent drivers purposely developed for the Thunderbird’s cabinet architecture. Each speaker weighs 25 lbs. with a height of 42”.

The obelisk-like shape, which symbolizes power and eternity, allows for uncomplicated placement in any living space, resulting in accurate staging and precise spatial capabilities regardless of where the speakers are placed, a characteristic that the Totem brand is known for.

The Tribe Tower Thunderbird will be demonstrated this weekend at the AXPONA Audio show in Chicago.

The Tribe Tower Thunderbird features a new multi-layer voice coil with increased magnet strength and geometry that generates life-like bass stable to below 28Hz, while being fully capable of music reproduction up to 7KHz using a dual-driver crossover-less configuration.

When commenting on where the new Tribe Tower Thunderbird speakers fit into the roster of existing Totem speakers, Vince Bruzzese, President and CEO of Totem Acoustic, said “they can be viewed as a mini Metal V2 with a relaxed, highly articulate and immersive vocal presentation. Sonically, they will also match perfectly with the new Tribe on-wall. The height and width of its image” added Bruzzese “can rival that of the Element Metal V2 and like both the Element Fire V2 and Metal V2, there is tremendous room flexibility, since the Tribe Tower Thunderbird is not heavily dependent on placement, allowing for easy room integration.”

The Tribe Tower Thunderbird speakers are shipping now and are available in finishes of satin white, satin black, premium dusk and premium ice.

Totem states, “the Thunderbird is regarded as a near- mythological bird-like spirit, that is deeply rooted in the sacred beliefs of many North American indigenous peoples’ history and culture. They are considered a supernatural being of power, strength, courage, as well as protection. Thunderbirds are believed to create thunder by flapping their wings and lightning by flashing their eyes. They also symbolize a deeper connection to the land, skies, and forces of nature, while maintaining order between the realms of the living and the spiritual world. Archaeologically, sites containing depictions of thunderbirds have been discovered that date back over the past four millennium.”

The dual ported 2-way design, also incorporates a 1.3” graphene dome tweeter with a 0.25” thick machined aluminum faceplate for crystal clear highs that complement the two 6” Torrent Technology low resonance woofers, with no crossover in their path for the purest possible signal.

True to Totem’s highly detailed design structure, the Thunderbird uses an industry unique Borosilicate cabinet dampening system, that manages energy dissipation in a desired, controlled manner while keeping the cabinet musically alive. The monocoque cabinetry with no parallel surfaces creates an incredibly rigid and inert enclosure that aids in generating dynamic capabilities of much larger speakers.

The Tribe Tower Thunderbird may very well be Totem Acoustic’s most unique product accomplishment to date, achieving so much both sonically and aesthetically while possessing the dynamic capabilities of much larger speakers. The Tribe Tower Thunderbird speakers are compatible with a wide range of power amplifiers and will perform very effectively in rooms of many different sizes and varying layouts, yet with minimal physical restrictions.

The Tribe Tower Thunderbird speakers are available in finishes of satin white, satin black, premium dusk and premium ice.  MSRP for the Tribe Tower Thunderbird speakers are $13,500.00 USD per pair. Add 1,500.00 USD for premium high gloss finish. Matching magnetic grills included. The speakers will have their North American debut and be demonstrated at the AXPONA audio show in Chicago later this week.
