TCL Begins Pre-Orders in Canada for its QM6K & QM7K TV Series

TCL has begun pre-orders for its new QM6K ad QK7K series TVs in Canada, both of which debuted at CEO 2025 earlier this year.

The new TVs boast advanced colour and light processing via the TCL Halo Control System, new QD-Mini LED screens that were designed and built by TCL, and come in screen sizes ranging from 55 inches all the way up to a mammoth 115-incher.

The QM6K series is dubbed an “affordable premium” line while the QM7K series affords higher-end features like HDR and audio by Bang & Olufsen. The QD-Mini LED models are made in TCL’s Pangu Lab, a full process Mini LED development centre in China.

TCL’s latest Precise Dimming Series offer higher peak brightness than their predecessors. The Halo Control System yields affords enhanced colour accuracy, gray scale accuracy, and “virtually no blooming,” says TCL, thanks to the new TCL Micro OD that reduces optical distance between the backlight and diffuser plate. The new system’s Super High Energy LED Chip combines high brightness with increased light efficiency while a Super Condensed Micro Lens uses a narrower light path for more precise light control.

TCL’s enhanced QD-Mini LED backlight technology works in conjunction with a high contrast HVA Panel to block out more of the light when the LCD closes for better dark state, providing up to five-times native contrast. Meanwhile, ennhanced QLED technology combines a new Color Optimization Algorithm with more vibrant Quantum Crystals for improved color accuracy.

Processing also gets an upgrade with Zero-Delay Transient Response for virtually no lag between the input signal and backlight response, preventing after-image blur and maximizing specular highlights. The Halo Control System also adds a Bi-directional 23-bit Backlight Controller, allowing for fine, granular control of over 65,000 levels of brightness for each LED for better gray scale accuracy. In addition, the system includes a Dynamic Light Algorithm (DLA) that intelligently optimizes the incoming video to render SDR signals at near HDR level.

Along with the new Halo Control System, the TCL QM6K boasts up to LD500 precise dimming with high HDR brightness; 144Hz Native Refresh Rate; Game Accelerator 288 for up to 288 VRR; TCL AiPQ Pro processor; Dolby Vision IQ (Plus HDR10+, HDR10, HLG, and the NEW DLA); Dolby Atmos; DTS Virtual:X; IMAX Enhanced & AMD FreeSync certifications; Dolby Vision Filmmaker Mode; Sleep Sounds Mode; hands-free voice control; and a new Onkyo 2.1 speaker system. It runs on the Google smart TV OS and boasts a slim, 360 bezel-less design.

The TCL QM6K TVs are now available for pre-order starting at an MSRP of $899 for the 55-inch model. The 65-inch is $1,099, 75-inch $1,599, 85-inch $2,499, and 98-inch $5,999. Retailers like Best Buy Canada are offering special deals, including up to a $500 bonus in discounts or a soundbar bundle, depending on the model purchased.
