Dali IO-12 Headphones Now Come in Mocha Grey

The Dali IO-12 headphones, which launched in North America two years ago, are now available in a new Mocha Grey finish.

As the first in the company’s line to feature Dali’s patented Soft Magnetic Compound (SMC) technology, they boast 50mm custom drivers, active noise cancellation, aptX Adaptive Bluetooth, and both USB-C and 3.5mm wired connections.

Using the same material found in Dali’s high-end speakers, the Dali IO-12’s magnet system helps combined with the signature paper fibre cones significantly reduces hysteresis, an unintended resistance to the voice-coil, which can lead to unwanted distortion in the audio signal. This, says Dali, helps lower uneven harmonic distortion. The result is a crystal-clear sound with ultra-low distortion.

“By applying SMC to the IO-12s,” explains the company, “we have essentially achieved electrostatic levels of midrange clarity.”

Designed to be used either wired or wirelessly, they include both aptX Adaptive Bluetooth and a 3.5mm mini-jack and USB-C cables. When using the supplied USB-C cable, dependent on source and device, audio can be listened to at up to 24Bit/96kHz Hi-Res quality. The Dali IO-12 offers two sound profiles for listening to your music: Hi-Fi and Bass.

You can skip tracks, adjust volume and more using the IO-12’s integrated buttons. Make hands-free calls and use them to control the voice assistant on your connected device. Get up to 35 hours of listening per charge. The foldable design features a real leather headband and oversized square ear-pads.

The Dali IO-12 in Mocha Grey will be released in September 2025, priced at 999 Euros or the equivalent of about $1,600 in Canada. They ship with a 1.2-metre stereo mini jack cable, three-metre stereo mini-jack cable, 3.5mm stereo mini-jack to 6.35mm jack adapter, flight adapter, and luxury travel case.
