Fitbit has revealed its latest fitness and health tracker, the Charge 5, which allows wearers to keep track of all of the usual activity stats, including steps, activity zones, and heart rate, along with stress, heart health, and overall well-being.
Boasting a 10% thinner design than the previous generation model along with a 200% brighter colour touchscreen, it can also run for about a week per charge, letting you recharge it on your day of rest.
Additional tools for managing stress, heart health, and sleep include EDA Scan for stress management, ECG assessments for AFib (coming soon), high/low heart rate notifications, and sleep insights.
Runners will appreciate that this model includes built-in GPS so you can track your walks, runs, cycles, and hikes without needing your smartphone should you desire to leave it at home. It can track 20 exercises as well as Active Zone Minutes in real-time so you know when you reach your peak heart rate or you have entered fat burn zone and cardio. It will also come with a six-month subscription to Fitbit Premium for accessing more than 500 workouts, mindfulness, and nutrition sessions from brands like Calm and LES MILLS. View the Health Metrics dashboard, Stress Management Score, and Sleep Score for deeper insights into your well-being.
The device also provides smartphone notifications, quick replies for Android smartphone users, timers, alarms, and contactless payments at compatible payment terminals. Choose from 20+ colourful clock faces.
As a part of the announcement, Fitbit also announced new features and content for Fitbit Premium members, including a new Daily Readiness Score that will help you determine when your body is at its best for exercise. This feature will be available soon from the Fitbit app for Premium members who own the Sense, Versa 3, Versa 2, Charge 5, Luxe, and Inspire 2 as well. Fitbit is also partnering with actor Will Smith to develop exclusive content for Fitbit Premium, which will feature a variety of health and wellness programs that focus on both physical and mental aspects of strength.
There is also a new line of designer accessories for Fitbit smartwatches, including high-fashion designer collections from Victor Glemaud and Brother Vellies for those who own the Sense and versa 3, as well as a new in-box colourway and core accessory bands.
The Fitbit Charge 5 is available in Canada for $229.95.
