Markham, ON-based distributor Gentec International has promoted Gordon Brown to the position of Director of the Mobile Electronics Division.
Brown joined Gentec in January 2022 as director of sales, where he was responsible for key accounts with major retailers across the country. He has a total of 25 years of experience in the mobile audio space, starting his career as a car audio installer.
“I am excited to undertake this new opportunity within Gentec, a return to the industry where it all started for me,” says Brown. “When I began working in car audio, we were pulling wire, mounting speakers, and installing new head units – some in cars that didn’t even come with a radio. The automotive category has seen significant evolution over the last couple of decades.
“The rise of fully integrated infotainment systems,” he continues, “and the recent growth of electric vehicles are two major considerations. Drivers are consuming more content than ever while on the road, but still want a more premium experience above what the manufacturers are providing. I look forward to executing our strategy in this rapidly evolving space.”
